Reducing the costs of external partnerships
How to make strategic partnerships work with external service providers
Date and venue to be confirmed.
This one-day workshop has been developed for local authorities (and other public sector organisations) that are either:
- considering whether they should engage with an external strategic partner to improve delivery of their services
- already engaged in a strategic partnership agreement but want to improve its performance and/or reduce its costs.
The aim of the day is to provide an overview of key strategic partnership models currently available and their respective advantages and disadvantages. The concepts presented will be based on local government case studies so delegates can discuss what in practice works, what doesn’t, and why.
At this seminar, delegates will have the opportunity to discuss:
- The current economic climate and whether strategic partnerships with external serice providers can bring efficiencies to local authorities
- Key factors to think through when considering strategic partnerships
- How to explain and document expectations to your strategic partner to avoid misunderstandings and additional charges that can affect time scales and costs of implementation
- How to reduce your total cost of ownership over the lifetime of the agreement
- How to ensure you get buy-in from your staff – eliminate the worries they have when the strategic partner starts to run your services
- How to successfully manage your strategic partner and the key metrics by which to measure their performance – and yours…
- The top pitfalls to avoid – and how to deal with them if they creep into your agreement.
